Exams are OUT

Fri, 05/18/2012 - 3:28PM by maybenovember 0 Comments - 15 Views

But I'm home! What a bummer ;( I finished off my last exam paper this noon, and my plans for today/tonight will be getting down to doing a few things that I've been wanting to do since months ago... ...

I can't believe I had spent an entire week at home. No kid! I took a week off from work for my exams. And I have remained at home from Saturday till today, that's 7 days!! :O Plus, I sacrificed 3 weekends to my studies. Gawd, I feel like a full time student for once. .....φ(・∀・*)

Anyway, now that the exams are over, here's a list of things that I want need to do:
Tidy my room - I don't know why but my room is at its messiest in the weeks before an exam. I had actually bought quite a no. of new clothings so it's all piled up in a corner. When I receive it, I get excited, I try it and I throw it aside. LOL. Oh yes, I had visited a thrift store about 2 weeks back and Shannen and I bought 5 items for $16!! Hey, you know when you're broke and have an urge to buy something? Thrift stores will save your pocket!

A sneek of what we bought from the thrift store, which I had shared in my instagram. The second item from the right is a mustard heart-printed shirt but the colour could not be captured because of bad lighting.

Learn the Korean language - My mom & aunts have been taking Korean classes every Wed and I've seen the study materials provided by the CC. Looks pretty intensive. I'm going to start asap!! And when I've learnt it, I shall attempt to watch Korean dramas without reading the Chinese subtitles. But that will be like monthssss or maybe even a year later lol.

Pack my luggages for 2 trips - Ok, maybe not luggages because I'm only going on 2 short and nearby trips. But they are back-to-back trips. So the moment I return home from trip 1, I have to rush home, drop the baggage and pick up the next baggage and head off for trip 2. My sense of urgency that day wld be like 200%.

Catch up on ALL my drama series - English/Taiwan/Korean drama series, I MUST catch up with all. Ok, time to put my blackberry playbook into good use (other than for reading e-magazines). By the way, anyone currently onto Fondant Garden? I LOVE THE SHOW TO BITS! Can't wait for the next episode to be out tonight ;p

Scapbooking - I have been putting this off since forever. Not sure if I should start now or wait till I return from my holidays in June. Hmm...

Alright, I'm going to sort the laundry and pack my room now! Ciao ヽ(^。^)ノ
I will return with a blog entry, perhaps tomorow.

Scopes in The Avengers

Thu, 05/10/2012 - 8:57PM by maybenovember 0 Comments - 9 Views

My company's instruments were featured in The Avengers!! Now now, why didn't I notice it during the movie? But one thing I know for sure, they were not used at all because the probes were not connected to it. Hahahaha.

Anyway, the boyfriend bought me a new ipod touch for our anniversary gift. Even thought my previous ipod got a bit cranky at times, I told him a gazillion times not.to.waste.money.and.buy.it. I actually told him to save the money and buy me something smaller or maybe treat me to something when we travel at the end of the month. But he insisted on buying me a new one (for personal reasons).

Ever since then, I've been spending my time playing scramble, word with friends and instagram! Please play with me (@sharmainesarah) because I would always love a challenge. And follow me on instagram too! ;)

The Plain Cafe / Skinny Pizza

Sat, 04/28/2012 - 4:21PM by maybenovember 0 Comments - 12 Views

On April Fool's Day, the army boys and I decided to have brunch at a Melbourne-style Cafe located in Craig Road. I chose this place because it is a hidden indie cafe and I knew they would like to try out.
Several days before we met up, I emphasized that this meet up is NOT an April Fool's day joke. Thank God they took me seriously, heh :P

Coincidentally, Plain Vanilla had set up a small corner selling their cupcakes! I had been DYING to visit them at Holland Village but I never quite got the chance (partly because I live in the east). Anyway, as much as I wanted to try the cupcakes, I didn't. I was way too full from the hearty breakfast meal. I stole one or two bites from the boyfriend.

The Plain
50 Craig Road, #01-01
Singapore 089688
Open daily: 7.30am - 7.30pm

After a good meal, we did a lot of random roaming around town and visiting museums.

The old Catholic High School building.
We were so curious to what's on the roof so we climbed the stairs up, only to realise that the gate to the roof is locked. Oh well... we should have known.

In the evening, about 5hrs after brunch, we had Skinny Pizza for dinner.

What I loved about the pizza was the super thin crust and how it crackled in my mouth. This is now my #1 favourite pizza! (The previous #1 favourite was Verve... but i still love it though!)

Skinny Pizza
252 North Bridge Road
#B1-63/64
Raffles City Shopping Centre
Singapore 179103
Open daily: 11am - 10pm

Fancy a Pork Chop & Smoothie?

Sun, 04/22/2012 - 11:57PM by maybenovember 7 Comments - 31 Views

At the end of March, D and I cooked up a new dish - Pork Chop & Caramelized Onions. But before that, we had to do some grocery shopping at Giant! (We are huge fans of supermarkets :x)

I saw this soft toy which was soooo soft and cuddly. In fact, it looked like a Me-To-You bear. D told me to buy it but I said taking a picture with it will do :P I sleep with way too many soft toys, I don't think my bed has any space for one more.

And the mission begins!

The end result wasn't as good as we expected. Mom and Shannen said it tasted nice but we felt that the pork chops were slightly overcooked. Shall try to perfect it the next time round.

We thought of trying out a new smoothie blend - Mixed-Berries and Banana Smoothie.

It was a success!!! Excited to try out the next smoothie concoction already :)

P.S. My exams are around the corner so I'll be updating a lot lesser than usual. Bear with me till 18th May!!

Birthdays in the family

Tue, 04/03/2012 - 9:47PM by maybenovember 0 Comments - 15 Views

Mom's birthday @ Zhou's Kitchen.
I love this place! We went for a hi-tea buffet and it only costs $13.80+ per adult. Isn't that affordable?

Missing dad in this picture :( Kind of wished he doesn't work overseas so we get to spend more time together as a family. But anyway, he made up and bought cze char for dinner over the weekend! :D

Ryan celebrated his18th birthday by treating us to dinner at Kenny Rogers. It's been a while since I dined there, I absolutely love their muffin and ribs!

Love it when the restaurant provides cushions. So comfy :)

Twelve cupcakes for the birthday boy ✿

My closest cousins ❤❤❤ Believe it or not! We meet every week day for dinner cooked by popo ❤ I'm the oldest, so I've seen each one of them grow up. Yeah, and this also makes me feel old. (On top of that, I still have 3 baby cousins wtf)

Ryan and his family.

So happy to stock up on my DHC Collagen drink at Watsons member sale yesterday. They had a Buy 2 Free 1 sale for members so I could stock up for the next 2 months! I really wanted to try the Hakubi White C collagen drink (they had a promo too!) but I decided to stick with what I'm familiar with. Anyone taking it? Please share with me your reviews ヅ

Just one narcissistic edited photo of me.

Taking a breather,

Mon, 03/19/2012 - 9:51PM by maybenovember 0 Comments - 12 Views

The stressful week is over! I've been swamped with work last week. With the unsuspecting audit and 3 overseas marketing events to support, I had zero time to prepare for my Basic Theory Test which took place today. In addition, I've got e-learning for Literature this school term. E-learning requires a lot of self-discipline without submitting into distractions that may come my way and I'm trying my best to be focused (despite how tired I am!). As a matter of fact, I'm typing this entry with my dinner in front of me (It's already 9.28pm) and I'm sipping on a bowl of warm ginseng soup that my mom bought. Ooh yumz ~

Anyway, I managed to study 3 days prior to my Basic Theory Test and I passed on my first attempt! Yippie! To be honest, it is actually quite hard to fail... Some answers are pure giveaways. I'm also hoping to slot in my Final Theory Test after my exams in May, so I have time to learn driving during the school holidays.

Alright I'm going back to bury my head in books. Oedipus, let me conquer you!
